Thank you, neighbors, for doing your part to keep our wonderful community a safe place to live.

Be vigilant and be aware of your surroundings. What can you do to help deter crime? You can keep your porch light on at night, install motion sensing lights and/ or cameras on your property because it is a proven fact that communities that are well lit create a deterrent to crime.  Recent patrols came across open garages in the middle of the night. Don't give others the opportunity to steal from you, keep your windows and doors locked on your home and place valuables out of sight in your vehicle.

Do you practice the 9 o'clock rule? Every evening around 9pm you check to make sure your property is secure.

Do you want to become part of neighborhood watch? It's easy to do and training is provided by our Reston District Police officers. You could be walking your dog, a jogger, pushing your child in a stroller, everyone can do it. You don't only need to be out at night; things can happen anytime. If you’re interested email neighborhood-watch@fmeha.org and leave a name and number.
